The Detroit Zoo just welcomed a baby gorilla, and she is absolutely adorable. She is also making history as the second gorilla birth at the Detroit Zoo. On Sunday, July 12, the western lowland gorilla was born to first-time mom Tulivu and silverback Mshindi. “This is a meaningful milestone for a critically endangered species, and part of the Gorilla Species Survival Plan working to protect western lowland gorillas,” the Detroit Zoo wrote in a post on Facebook sharing the exciting news.
