PHE Canada closed out another school year with a footprint that is easy to state and hard to picture: millions of students touched, tens of thousands of educators supported, thousands of schools and communities involved. The 2025–2026 cycle brought new territory for long-running programs, fresh resources built from scratch, and a batch of stories worth telling. Numbers alone undersell it.

The PHE Canada community is at the heart of everything we do, and now it's your turn to speak up. We are excited to launch the 2026 PHE Community Survey, and we need your input. Whether you're a teacher, administrator, researcher, or advocate, your perspective is essential to understanding who we are as a community and where we need to go next. Your feedback has already shaped our work in the past, and it will continue to guide our planning, programs, and priorities in the months and years ahead.

Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada) is proud to celebrate another incredible year for the At My Best (AMB) program, with 8,012 teachers and school administrators now registered in the program, reaching 943,630 students. This year, 118 schools across the country registered for the culminating At My Best Play Day, with more than 35,219 students taking part in a day dedicated to movement, joy, and healthy living.

PHE Canada was pleased to hear The Honourable Adam van Koeverden, Secretary of State (Sport), announce the Government of Canada’s historic $755 million investment over five years to strengthen the sports system. From playgrounds and schools to community sport programs across the country, this commitment has the potential to create more opportunities for children and youth to be active, develop confidence and life skills, and experience the benefits of safe, quality sport.

School sport systems are not experienced equally and equitably by all. PHE Canada's Connect for School Sport (C4SS) project is gathering vital insights directly from school communities to better understand the current landscape, opportunities, successes, and challenges within school sport in Canada.

Puberty and Healthy Education Program: Grades 5 & 6 Always Changing – Grades 5 & 6 is a resource designed to help ease the transition between childhood and adolescencefor students in grades 5 and 6. Students will have many questions about the physical, emotional, and social changesthey go through during puberty. This free set of instructional materials will help students understand these changes, and that they are a natural part of their development.

After over 35 years of serving the physical activity sector across Canada, the Human Kinetics (HK) Canada office is closing. PHE Canada is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2025–2026 National Awards and celebrate their career milestones. Congratulations to all the award recipients on being recognized for their dedication, passion, and significant contributions to the PHE community.
