Not only are those corporate behemoths present, local businesses Phillip’s Steaks, China House No. 5, and Rocco’s Italian Sausages swim in these highly competitive fast food waters.
The Eagles Have The Best Tight End Room In Franchise History
Zach Ertz is a Philadelphia Eagle for the first time since 2021! Ertz is 11 catches away from breaking Harold Carmichael’s record for most receptions in Philadelphia Eagles history. Ertz rejoins the last two remaining members of the Eagles 2018 Super Bowl team, Lane Johnson and Jake Elliot to relieve injury woes suffered by Dallas Goedert. When Goedert went down against the Titans, Philadelphia was quickly introduced to Johnny Mundt.
Super Bowl Hopes and Changes
It’s finally that time of the year again. No improvement on the smoldering heat and the leaves haven’t changed yet, but we have the NFL. The birds are back! Coming off of a season reminiscent of 2023, maybe last season was just another Super Bowl hangover. Despite that, the Eagles did become the first NFC East repeat champions in two decades. The questions and pressure is back on head coach Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts. But there’s a lot more to that. It’s Lane Johnson’s swan song.
Dan Horan's Viral Fallrisk Project
On another evening of getting dinner in Philadelphia Chinatown, bustling through the evening crowds waiting for Boba Tea and their tables along the 10th street corridor, I ran into Dan Horan of the realfallrisk project. This is day 71 of his set up, he’s barely had a day to clean up his apartment. His videos on social media have been going viral for allowing individuals to leave voicemails on an automated line. The footage gets put in a short film style video, and uploaded online.

A vendor at 6:55 a.m. is in violation.
NDA Required to Purchase Two Spaces in the Divine Lorraine Hotel
Two high-end restaurant spaces within the Divine Lorraine Hotel are listed for sale on bizbuysell.com for $950,000 total. The price is significantly below the price it was listed as a week ago, which was $1.2 million. The historic and definitely haunted Divine Lorraine Hotel was completed in 1894 and operated as apartments for its first six years of existence. It was converted into a hotel in 1900 and later became the first racially integrated hotel in the city.
Award-Winning Documentary “Amish Country Queer” Brings a Rural Heart to Philly Fringe
When most Pennsylvanians think of Lancaster, “diversity” is hardly the first thing that comes to mind. The idea that rural Pennsylvania might be called home by any form of alienated community seems to get buried beneath the sea of cornfields and evangelical billboards. Despite our preconceived notions, filmmaker Colleen C. Brady has decided to shine a light on a side of Lancaster County not often seen by outsiders, one filled to the brim with radical queer joy.
Venmo Took $100 from Me & Asked Me to “Stop Calling”
On Friday, July 17th, I attempted to purchase a DoorDash through Venmo to send to a friend who just had a baby so he could have meals for his family as they adjust to their new child’s schedule. Using $100.00 from my Venmo Wallet, I attempted to purchase the $100.00 DoorDash giftcard. I immediately received an email from PayPal, the transaction was denied.
