Filipino food will be among the highlights when Campbelltown’s Festival of Flavours and Beats concludes with its South and Southeast Asian Night on Saturday 8 August, inviting families to enjoy an evening of food, culture and entertainment in the heart of the city. The free community event will run from 4 pm to 10 pm at Mawson Park and forms the second night of Campbelltown City Council’s two-day multicultural festival.

Alyssa Jandayan is a 19-year-old Filipino-Australian performer cast as Danielle in Bring It On: The Musical, presented by Theatrical Inc at National Theatre this July. The production runs from 11 to 26 July, with tickets available via BookTickets. Jandayan has been cast in the principal role of Danielle. She is a talented performer currently undertaking full-time training at Transit Dance. This is her second production with Theatrical Inc, following her appearance in School of Rock last year.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will increase services between the Philippines and Australia during the Christmas and New Year travel period, adding flights and increasing seat capacity on selected routes to meet expected demand. Between 16 December 2026 and 20 January 2027, the airline will operate an additional 17 flights on its Melbourne and Perth routes.

Homo follows two best friends on a road trip, Mark and Rem. When Mark, a straight actor, books a queer role, he calls up his old best friend Rem to copy his queer mannerisms as a character study. But after Rem mistakes Mark’s interest for something more, their  friendship evolves into something else unexpected.

Melbourne’s award-winning Filipino restaurant Serai welcomed diners to a special Winter Kamayan on 21 June, celebrating the Filipino tradition of communal dining through a shared feast enjoyed by hand.
