Gaming Lawmakers Support New Jersey Appeal in Kalshi Case
A national group of gaming lawmakers is backing New Jersey’s bid to take its legal fight with Kalshi to the US Supreme Court. At issue is whether the state can apply its sports betting laws to sports contracts offered on Kalshi’s prediction market. The National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) filed a brief Sept. 22 urging the justices to hear New Jersey’s appeal. The group argues that states should retain the power to regulate sports-related gambling offered within their borders.
Caesars Shareholders Approve Fertitta Deal Involving Three Atlantic City Casinos
Caesars’ three Atlantic City casinos moved a step closer to joining Golden Nugget Atlantic City under one owner after shareholders approved a proposed sale to Fertitta Entertainment. The $17.6 billion acquisition would give Fertitta control of four of the city’s nine casinos if it clears New Jersey regulatory review and the companies meet the remaining closing conditions. Caesars reported the Sept. 22 vote the following day.
Hard Rock Bet’s New Jersey Casino Library Reaches 4,718 Games
Four slots appear on Hard Rock Bet’s New Jersey-only game list in its latest casino update. The operator’s Sept. 22 release features 20 titles available to players in the state and brings its reported library to 4,718 games. Hard Rock Bet listed 29 titles across New Jersey and Michigan. Sixteen appear on both states’ lists, while four are listed only for New Jersey. The remaining nine appear only on the Michigan list.
Caesars Launches Remote Roulette from Tropicana Atlantic City
New Jersey online casino players can now wager on the same roulette table as guests at Tropicana Atlantic City without visiting the casino. Caesars’ new Remote Roulette game streams live from a physical table on Tropicana’s casino floor to Caesars Palace Online Casino. Online players and casino guests place separate bets, but each spin produces the same result for both groups. Caesars announced the launch on Sept. 21.
NJ Players Can Enter Hollywood Casino’s $21K Slot Tournament
New Jersey online casino players can compete for $21,000 in PENN Play Credits through Sept. 28 in Hollywood Casino’s Lightning Link Daily Sprint. The seven-day tournament awards $3,000 to the top 50 players on a daily leaderboard. CFTC Opens Door for More Prediction Market Apps in New Jersey
Prediction markets could begin appearing in more third-party apps under a new Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) no-action position. The CFTC’s Market Participants Division announced the decision on Sept. 17. Under the position, qualifying providers of “passive” software can connect customers with federally registered exchanges and intermediaries without registering as introducing brokers. The relief expressly includes software that provides access to event contracts.

David Stefanski won Event No. 6 of the Borgata Big, Big Series 2026 at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The event was the $10,200 BetMGM Poker Big, Big Baller. The tournament was the highest buy-in event on the series schedule. Stefanski earned $169,220 as the official winner after a three-way ICM deal. The result gave Stefanski his first Borgata title and pushed his live tournament earnings past $3 million. The $10,200 event drew 69 entries for a total prize pool of $690,000.
