Marlin Equity Partners has signed a definitive agreement to complete a growth investment in Rystad Energy, a provider of research and intelligence solutions focused on energy markets. Rystad's founder, Jarand Rystad, together with the Company's existing shareholders, will retain a majority stake in the business. Plesner acted as lead legal counsel to Marlin in the transaction.

The order arises from a case pending before the Eastern High Court as the first instance, concerning an alleged claim for a substantial multimillion amount due to alleged defects in a building in Copenhagen. In this case, Plesner represents one of the defendants, who acted as consulting engineer on the construction project. The case is technically complex, with a high level of detail, and has been scheduled for a nine-day hearing in the autumn of 2027.

Superior Energy Services is acquiring Welltec, bringing the Danish company into the US group. Headquartered in Allerød, Welltec operates internationally, delivering well intervention, completion and energy technology solutions to customers in more than 50 countries. Plesner has advised Welltec on regulatory aspects related to the transaction.

A fire strategy is typically established at an early stage of a construction project, but its underlying assumptions are tested only once the relevant solutions are finally designed and implemented. This applies especially to renovation and extension projects, where new fire safety solutions must operate in conjunction with an existing building. Legal News 30.09.2026 On 9 July 2026 in case C-768/24 (Hortis), the European Court of Justice ("ECJ") ruled that mandatory law of the country where an employee habitually works does not automatically govern the employment relationship. Where, based on an overall assessment, the employment relationship is more closely connected with another country, the law of that country may apply instead, even where that law is less favourable to the employee.

The City Court of Copenhagen has ruled in favour of an IT consultant in a judgment delivered on 28 August 2026 concerning the tax and VAT treatment of consultancy services provided through an agency. The Ministry of Taxation and Economic Growth brought the case before the court after the National Tax Tribunal (Landsskatteretten) overturned the Danish Tax Agency's assessment and found that the consultant was carrying on an independent business.

On 22 September 2026, Denmark, Greenland and the United States signed a much-awaited deal on international security to supplement the existing defence framework (the "2026 Defence Agreement"). Once passed into law, the deal will reinforce the United States’ military presence in Greenland and further embed national-security considerations into the regulation of foreign investment, critical infrastructure and mineral-resource activities.
