Ad Results Media launches new audience buying tool
Audio ad sales agency Ad Results Media has launched the first in a new suite of tools designed to helps brands and media agencies more effectively engage with podcast advertising, the company has announced. ARM PRO: Audience - the first tool to be developed as part of the ARM PRO portfolio - is an audience buying platform which allows advertisers to target specific segments across different audio channels (including streaming audio and podcasts) using both direct and programmatic buys.
British Podcast Awards 2024 open for entries
Entries are now open for this year’s British Podcast Awards, the organisers of the event have announced, with early-bird pricing until 23 April. The ceremony will be taking place in the HERE at Outernet venue in London’s Tottenham Court Road for the second year in a row, and will be held on 26 September, with tickets on sale soon. Last year’s sold-out event saw nearly 1,200 entries from across the UK, with over 200 judges and a shortlist of podcasts from over 150 companies of varying sizes.
Life After Prison returns for fifth season
Award-winning podcast Life After Prison has returned for its fifth season today, the creators have announced, starting with an interview with filmmaker David Navarro. The podcast, created by the non-profit Prison Radio Association, deals with the experiences of those leaving prison after serving a custodial sentence, and how they can adjust after being inside. The show is intended to act as a resource for those serving sentences, as well as their friends and families.

Podcast hosting and monetisation platform Adelicious has signed new deals with a number of chart-topping podcasts across varying genres for 2024, the company has announced. This includes shows such as multi-award-winning current affairs podcast Media Storm with Mathilda Mallinson and Helena Wadia, Podmaster’s news podcast This Is Not A Drill with former BBC News presenter Gavin Esler, and wellbeing podcasts The Declutter Hub and Growth Mindset Podcast.
Actor David Duchovny to launch podcast with Lemonada
X-Files star David Duchovny is making his podcast hosting debut with a new show produced by podcast company Lemonada Media, the company has announced, focusing on the role of failure in professional and personal growth. The series, titled Fail Better, will see Duchovny sharing his own experiences of failure as well as discussing the experiences of his guests.
AdLarge partners with adtech platform Consumable to reach female listeners
Audio ad sales company AdLarge has signed a new partnership with adtech platform Consumable to expand the reach of audio advertising among female consumers, the two companies have announced. As part of the partnership, advertisers on AdLarge’s network will gain access to 250 million monthly audio impressions, as well as contextual data segments which allow them to tailor messages specifically towards female consumers and create a more personalised experience.
BBC Sounds announces new slate of podcasts for 2024
BBC Sounds has revealed its slate of brand new podcasts which are being released in 2024, featuring a range of celebrity talent across both new shows and returning projects. For the first time, BBC Sounds has commissioned a podcast with Dino Sofos’ production company Persephonica - the company which co-produces The News Agents with Global - featuring music artist Lilly Allen and her life-long friend, TV and radio presenter Miquita Oliver.
