Their recollection of him comes days after he was identified in the OBSERVER as the shooting victim last month in the city of Dunkirk. “He actually got to the point where he wanted to raise a family and wanted to try to turn his life around to be a productive person in society,” said Harrison Williams, his father.

Jul 11, 2026 JAMESTOWN POLICE – Michael C. Demarco, 47, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of second-degree menacing and felong third-degree criminal possession of a weapon at 11:06 p.m. July 3 after officers responded to a south side business for a reported person with a weapon. Officers arrived on the scene and found a male later identified as Demarco barricaded inside of an office of the business with a knife.

Jul 11, 2026 On behalf of the WCA Foundation, we are honored to celebrate the 10th and final year of the Shades of Pink Golf Tournament–a decade of compassion, generosity, and impact in our community. Through the vision and dedication of Steve and Anne Sischo, this tournament has raised more than $100,000 to support cancer care at UPMC Chautauqua. Anne, a breast cancer survivor herself, wanted to help others facing cancer.

The West Division-leading Muckdogs (22-6-1) scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to retake the lead only to have the second-place Tarp Skunks (20-7-2) tally four of their own in the bottom half of the frame. By league rule, games can’t go beyond the 10th. Jamestown did have a chance to win in its final at-bat, but Batavia closer Eric Woodley struck out James Dixon with the bases loaded to finally end the four-hour marathon.

She was a 1943 graduate of Mayville Central School where she was valedictorian. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in music and music education from the Former Fredonia State College in 1947, and her Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Teachers College in New York City in 1951. She also completed many additional college graduate courses from New York University and Syracuse University Summer school Sessions at Chautauqua Institution and at Columbia University’s Teacher’s College.

Beebe attained her associate’s degree from Jamestown Business College and spent a remarkable 47 years at WCA Hospital as an outpatient administrator. A beach-lover at heart, Beebe jumped at any chance she got to be by the ocean. Along with her husband, Gary, their travels took them around the world; fondly, Beebe loved their many ocean cruises. A talented sewer and quilter, Beebe stitched her art into many beloved blankets and articles of clothing.

She graduated in 1973 from Southwestern Central High School, Lakewood, NY. She went to New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Nancy was a Tableware Designer and moved to Lancaster, PA to work at Pfaltzgraff where she became a Master Model & Mold Maker. Nancy worked at Wilton Armetele where she continued sculpting her designs as well as Wilton designs. There she developed and worked on their top selling design of Flutes & Pearls.

Jul 11, 2026 One of my favorite musicals since it arrived on the stage scene in 1964, and hit the Big Screen in 1971, is Fiddler on the Roof, the story of a poor Jewish family struggling to maintain their religious beliefs and teachings in a settlement of Imperial Russia set around 1905, about the same time as the Russian Revolution.

Born in Jamestown, NY, on July 25, 1963 he was the son of the late Donald and Carolyn Cummings Smith. Kevin had a lifelong love of baseball and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. He and his wife, Lisa, shared that passion and especially enjoyed attending Erie SeaWolves games together. They had been looking forward to crossing a lifelong dream off their bucket list by attending a game at Wrigley Field later this month. Also Kevin had a great love for animals and music.
