ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA— Rollem's Cardistry Machine SL Single Line Rollem International has unveiled Cardistry®, a next-generation automated platform engineered for high-volume playing card, trading card and collectible card production. The system integrates slitting, cutting and collating into a single inline workflow, eliminating traditional multi-stage handling and significantly reducing labour dependency. The system handles sheet sizes up to 1020 x 830mm and substrates ranging from 200–500gsm.

On 1 July Heidelberg said it had also reached an agreement to take over the production of Polar equipment. German firm PCT Maschinenbau, which manufactured Polar equipment on Heidelberg’s behalf, entered self-administered insolvency proceedings in April.

Supremex Inc. has announced the acquisition of Goldrich Printpak Inc., a provider of folding carton packaging solutions located in the Greater Toronto Area. The transaction  approximately $34.0 million. Founded in 1953 and employing approximately 90 people, Goldrich operates a 68,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Toronto, Ontario.

— More revenue has been coming from digital printing . Nazdar has acquired Fujifilm’s Canada, US and Latin America screen and flexographic ink business, through a sale and licensing arrangement. Nazdar said the investment would strengthen its longstanding commitment to the screen and flexographic/narrow web markets and expand its capabilities across product performance, regulatory support, and technical services.
