Two former heads of Uganda’s military intelligence, retired Major General Abel Kandiho and retired Brigadier General Charles Bakahumura, were reportedly arrested on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Security operatives picked up Kandiho from his farm in Gomba district. Details of Bakahumura’s reported arrest remained unclear. It was not known where he was detained or which security agency carried out the operation.

Electric mobility company Spiro has introduced two new electric motorcycles in Uganda, combining African-inspired design with technology aimed at improving the daily experience of riders. The company launched the Davido Bike and the new Spiro M1 V3 as part of its push to expand clean transportation solutions in Uganda’s growing electric mobility market. Police have arrested eight people after a video showed a group boasting about attacks on members of the public in Kampala.
