Quartier Libre

Magazine
Quartier libre is the magazine of the student community of the University of Montreal . It was founded in 1993 following the disappearance of the newspaper Le Continuum , former newspaper of the Federation of Student Associations on the campus of the University of Montreal . The disappearance of the newspaper Le Continuum , under the direction of José Marianne Proulx in 1991-1992, then of André C. Passiour in 1992-1993, occurred following a schism between the former editorial team of the Latin Quarter and the FAÉCUM , then led by François Rebello . The former Latin Quarter teamfounded the newspaper L'Affranchi which was published alongside the Continuum. Quartier libre is produced by Les Publications du Quartier Libre Inc. and was, before the Covid-19 crisis, published every two weeks during the school year, or around 16 issues per year. Its size varied according to the issues, oscillating between 20 and 28 pages. Source
