The publisher is Christian Murray a veteran journalist who worked as a reporter for Newsday and Thomson Reuters prior to establishing the company. He has a master’s degree from the Columbia School of Journalism and is a graduate of the University of Auckland.
He founded Outer Boro Media and its subsidiaries in 2009. Murray is originally from New Zealand and has been in New York since 1994. He is on the board of the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce and the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy. Source

The New York City Council has passed a resolution introduced by Council Member Julie Won calling on the state legislature to pass legislation that would require negligent landlords to cover the costs of a temporary apartment for tenants displaced by fire. The legislation, sponsored by State Sen. Mike Gianaris and Assembly Member Claire Valdez, was inspired by the victims of a Sunnyside fire at 43-09 47th Ave. in December 2023.

Legislators said the practice, known as “notarial fraud,” can result in victims paying thousands of dollars for legal services that often leave them worse off.
