Racer is a monthly, California-based motorsports magazine.
The magazine has news and feature articles relating to most of the world's major auto racing series, including NASCAR, Formula One, the IndyCar Series, Champ Car, the American Le Mans Series, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, NHRA Drag Racing, and the World Rally Championship, as well as local racing categories and feeder series. The magazine includes extensive photography of race vehicles. Past article subjects have included the BMW Sauber Formula One car, the Toyota FJ Cruiser desert racer, and the Cadillac CTS-V SPEED GT racecar. In addition to the monthly print magazine, some of Racer’s editors provide news briefs, commentaries and feature articles for Speed Channel. Source

Aston Martin stays fastest in third Lone Star Le Mans practice
Aston Martin Racing’s No. 007 Valkyrie remained the fastest car in the FIA WEC Hypercar pack in the final practice session of the weekend at COTA, building on its session-topping performance in FP2 yesterday. Harry Tincknell was quickest again, with the Briton completing a 1m52.174s, the fastest lap of the weekend so far, on a set of fresh medium tires early in the session. It sets up the THOR team nicely ahead of qualifying this afternoon.
Blaney vs Toyota? That’s not how the Penske driver sees the Chase playing out
Ryan Blaney might be the thorn in Toyota’s side. Or at least that is how one can look at the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings as the Chase begins at Darlington Raceway on Sunday. Blaney and his Team Penske Ford stand out in the middle of a heavily dominated top six in the standings by Toyota. The series champion of 2023 is second in the standings to favorite Denny Hamlin, with Tyler Reddick, the early season dominator, not far behind. Then come the rest of Hamlin’s teammates.
Legacy adding race shop space as it widens Cup Series footprint
Legacy Motor Club will operate out of a new space beginning next winter as the organization expands to three full-time teams. A newly built space (not an existing race shop) will be in Mooresville, N.C., and construction is currently underway. Legacy Motor Club will race out of the building beginning in 2028. However, it will be a three-car team starting next year with the addition of Riley Herbst in the No. 84 Toyota.
Duerksen charges from seventh to win Monza F2 Sprint
Invicta Racing’s Joshua Duerksen put in a stellar drive from the fourth row on the grid to win the Formula 2 Sprint Race. The Paraguayan driver controlled a late-race safety car restart to earn his third Sprint of the season and in the process became the driver with the most podiums at Monza in F2. Trident’s John Bennett claimed P2 in what was his 50th start, while Oliver Goethe completed the podium in third place for MP Motorsport.
Corvette aims to throw its weight around on home ground at COTA
With four races to go, the FIA WEC LMGT3 drivers' title battle is in an intriguing spot. Jonny Edgar, Nicky Catsburg and Ben Keating sit first, second and third, despite the fact that they all drive the No. 33 TF Sport Corvette, after Keating missed Imola and Spa and Catsburg sat out São Paulo.

It’s Scott Dixon’s last race for Chip Ganassi Racing. It’s Felix Rosenqvist’s last race for Meyer Shank Racing. It’s Christian Lundgaard’s last race for Arrow McLaren. It’s Nolan Siegel’s last race for Arrow McLaren.
Gasly stuns with maiden pole at Monza
Pierre Gasly sensationally pipped George Russell to take his maiden Formula 1 pole position at the Italian Grand Prix. Gasly, who claimed his first and only grand prix victory in Monza in 2020, led Q1 and was fourth fastest in Q2 but never appeared likely to take pole in his midfield Alpine car. A superb first lap in Q3, however, had him third and just 0.072s off Russell’s provisional pole, putting him within striking distance of a giant-killing result.
Cook takes BTCC Race to Pole at Croft
Josh Cook won the Race To Pole for the British Touring Car Championship weekend at Croft Circuit, fending off the dual NAPA Racing UK attack of Dan Cammish and Ash Sutton. Corolla Racing UK driver Cook topped timed qualifying to start the race that decided the grid for the first of three championship rounds on Sunday and made a strong start as Cammish initially faced pressure from Mikey Doble.

George Russell controlled the final practice session at the Italian Grand Prix ahead of Ferrari favorite Lewis Hamilton Despite a late entry into the session, Russell never looked in doubt for top spot, finding time with every flying lap on soft tires until his position was unimpeachable with a benchmark of 1m 22.219s.
