Racer is a monthly, California-based motorsports magazine.
The magazine has news and feature articles relating to most of the world's major auto racing series, including NASCAR, Formula One, the IndyCar Series, Champ Car, the American Le Mans Series, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, NHRA Drag Racing, and the World Rally Championship, as well as local racing categories and feeder series. The magazine includes extensive photography of race vehicles. Past article subjects have included the BMW Sauber Formula One car, the Toyota FJ Cruiser desert racer, and the Cadillac CTS-V SPEED GT racecar. In addition to the monthly print magazine, some of Racer’s editors provide news briefs, commentaries and feature articles for Speed Channel. Source

It felt like the only topic during the opening rounds of the season, but after tweaks ahead of Miami to try and improve how much super-clipping is required on a qualifying lap – effectively slowing down to try and go faster later in the lap – the weight of the focus started to shift onto different matters.
Ferrari fined over mechanic incident as Hamilton rues penalty, damage
Lewis Hamilton disagreed with the penalty he received for contact with George Russell during the Belgian Grand Prix, but avoided further sanction as Ferrari has been fined for an incident that saw a mechanic hit in the pit lane. Russell tried to overtake Hamilton around the outside into Les Combes on the opening lap at Spa-Francorchamps, with Hamilton correcting a snap of oversteer that pitched the Mercedes into a spin and out of the race.
Antonelli downplays big point lead after ‘lucky’ Spa gain
Kimi Antonelli isn't putting much stock in his big world championship lead, saying big swings in points could continue after counting himself lucky to pull out a sizable advantage once again by winning the Belgian Grand Prix. The Italian had retired from two of the previous three races to see his championship advantage reduced to 25 points over teammate George Russell, and 32 over Lewis Hamilton.
Kanaan Indy winner heads to RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction
If you've got some spare change lying around, RM Sotheby's upcoming sale in Monterey might be a good place for you. That's because the car Tony Kanaan raced to victory at the 2013 Indianapolis 500 is coming up for sale. The car, Dallara DW12 chassis No. 1 (pictured above), was driven by Kanaan at Indy that year in what at the time was the fastest average speed for a victor in the race, and ended a long wait for the 2004 series champion. Antonelli beats Leclerc to Belgian GP victory
Kimi Antonelli chased down Charles Leclerc to win the Belgian Grand Prix and stretch his championship lead to 45 points over Lewis Hamilton after teammate George Russell crashed out on the first lap. Antonelli’s race almost came undone on the first lap when an ordinary exit from La Source gave front-row starter Max Verstappen a powerful slipstream down to Eau Rouge.
Testing imminent for 2028 IndyCar
The IndyCar Series’ new-for-2028 chassis and engine combination is expected to turn its first laps of validation testing within the next two weeks. Multiple sources have told RACER to look for the Dallara IR28 powered by a 2.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine to complete its maiden laps in the gap between today's race at Nashville Superspeedway and the next event on the calendar at Portland on Aug. 9.
Russell laments ‘dangerous’ lack of power before race-ending collision
George Russell says he had no power on the opening lap of the Belgian Grand Prix and was in a “dangerous” position before his collision with Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes driver has complained of a straight-line speed deficit all weekend, and was clearly losing out to cars around him on the run to Les Combes on the opening lap. Trying to go round the outside of Hamilton, Russell was tagged into a spin by the Ferrari and retired in the gravel, but focused on the power issue.
Câmara takes Spa F2 Feature win
Rafael Câmara was made to work for his second victory of the Formula 2 season, putting in a mature display to win the Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race. The Brazilian driver had to manage losing his lead at the start, a Red Flag stoppage and challenges from his rivals to seal the win – with Invicta Racing winning both races at Spa for the second consecutive year. ART Grand Prix driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak achieved his maiden Formula 2 podium in P2, with Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov in third.
Pajari dominates Rally Estonia to land first WRC win

The 24-year-old Finn (above) led from start to finish in his factory Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, winning 12 of the 18 high-speed, high-commitment stages to head home his second-placed teammate, Oliver Solberg, by 19.5s.
