When former RAF serviceman Matt Neve faced financial uncertainty following injury and major life changes, the RAF Benevolent Fund provided vital support - helping to ease immediate pressures and enabling him to rebuild his life. Matt joined the RAF in 2001 at the age of 16. He initially served as a driver, supporting airfield operations. In 2003, he deployed on Operation Telic, where his role exposed him to traumatic experiences, including transporting severely injured personnel.

The 2025 Review highlights the impact of the Fund's national youth programme Airplay, delivered by One YMCA. Airplay marked it's fifteenth year in 2025, supporting young people with a safe, consistent, and stimulating programme of activities across 24 RAF stations and online through Airplay Connect. The recent report found that across the year, there were over 35,100 attendances at Airplay activities, with 3,758 sessions delivered and 6,944 hours of activities.

The Armed Forces Health, Disability & Carers Network (AF HDCN) is a tri-Service network that brings together Service Personnel affected by health conditions, disability, neurodiversity, special educational needs (SEN), illness and caring responsibilities either personally or through supporting a family member. The network exists to connect lived experience, provide peer support, and help improve understanding of the realities faced by many within the Armed Forces community.

For many serving families, separation and relocation can affect every part of life - from daily routines and relationships to wellbeing and a sense of stability.

The results are in! The 2026 Armed Forces Continuous Attitude Survey (AFCAS) was distributed to a sample of 32,365 trained UK Regular Armed Forces personnel between September 2025 and February 2026 using both online (all Services) and paper (Royal Navy (RN) and Army only) questionnaires.
