Podcast: Play in new window | Download Subscribe: RSS There’s been some killer music released in the past few months including some big surprises from Fugazi and Neurosis. I also have some gems that might have flown under your radar like Miltown and the Belonging/Inny split. There are some other tunes herein that have been popping in my head lately that I included to round out what I think is a fine podcast of punk and punk-adjacent music.
Gilbert Cisneros Photo Column-Wicked Bears
Oct 25, 2025 Wicked Bears opened up for Anamaguchi’s Salt Lake stop on The Buckwild Tour in Salt Lake City. Wicked Bears has been in the scene for a while and is arguably Utah’s most polished pop punk band at the moment. Their last album, Underwater, goes hard and is definitely an album you’ll listen to from beginning to end. The Anamanaguchi crowd was into it and Wicked Bears totally asked for the 3DS concert footage that was being filmed from people in the crowd after their set.
Chris Boarts Larson Photo Column-Golpe
Oct 18, 2025 Skullfest in Pittsburgh is the most fun, punkest gathering of the year. There are always a few bands new to me bands that I get to experience, and this year Golpe from Italy was one of the stand-out bands! I missed the late-night aftershow, but was there for the main show at Spirit. Front and center for Golpe had me tracking the singer Tadzio across the stage and through the air.

Podcast: Play in new window | Download Subscribe: RSS I’ve had an interest in death for most of my life. It started because I struggled with mental illness. In the last few years, my interest in the subject has more to do with suicide prevention work. I’m also captivated by the right-to-die movement, cemeteries, and how society approaches the idea of death. I eventually hope to work in the hospice field. Earlier this year, my cat died, and I dealt with the grief it brought.
Chris Chappell Photo Column-Shinobu
Oct 11, 2025 I saw the first Shinobu show in over ten years and all I got was.... a really nice time. For a band that hasn’t performed together in such a long time, they had no business being as good as they were. The quartet woke up a sleepy Seattle crowd with a barrage of shouts, claps, singalongs, and their signature indie punk sound. I’ll admit that when the band was active, I didn’t get it.

Podcast: Play in new window | Download Subscribe: RSS Nefarious Artists: The Soundtrack: Episode 11: 1985 (Part 1) Long before online streaming and even TV music videos, that were beyond the reach of many new bands outside of a lucky spin on the radio, the compilation became the most effective way to access, and be accessed by, the eager new ears and inquisitive minds of the then new punk generation.
One Punk’s Guide to the Culture Industry (and How to Stop It Straightening You Out) By Angus Wonder Of It All

Unf#ck Your Brain-Deck-Healing & Encouragement from Dr. Faith G. Harper, 55 cards
I will soon pay a compliment to Dr. Faith G. Harper—who, among other things, is, according to her website, a Doctor of Counselor Education and Supervision—but first I’m obligated to address this: She also, per her website, studied Brainspotting at the Rocky Mountain Brainspotting Institute. Psychology Today magazine has called Brainspotting “pseudoscience” (though it’s worth mentioning that psychology itself isn’t a science, it’s a philosophy).
AUTOCAMPER: What Do You Do All Day?: CD
Sep 18, 2025 All harmony, indie jangle, and shoegazey loveliness, Manchester trio Autocamper struts their serious charm in their first debut release. Songs are plush and oh-so-easy on the ears. A comparison to the Vaselines is extremely apt; as well as a similar hue of The Pastels for sure, with a few sweet Softies overlays. Very Slumberland. –Camylle (Safe Suburban Home / SLR) Razorcake.org is supported and made possible, in part, by grants from the following organizations.
