ReadJunk.com is an entertainment website (blog, zine, whatever you want to call it) that has been around for over 25 years give or take. The main focus of ReadJunk is to serve our readers with daily news and reviews. Other features on ReadJunk include: articles on various topics, interviews with bands, actors and comedians. There’s also a podcast that we do from time to time.
The site focuses on the Northeast but that’s not to say that other parts of the country or the world get overlooked. If there is something going on over on the West Coast or even in the UK, ReadJunk will post about it. The website is run by one person for the most part and he tries his best to post when we can. Our main goal is to inject some humor into our postings but give our audience something informative to read as well. Source

Former Zebrahead frontman Matty Lewis is back with a new band, Rocketsuite Rogue. The group’s debut album, Hello, Apocalypse!, arrives August 21th via Double Helix Records. The album mixes melodic punk rock, big hooks, and a healthy dose of emo influence while tackling themes of resilience, hope, and surviving life’s darker moments. Judging by the first couple of singles, Lewis hasn’t lost his knack for writing catchy, singalong choruses.
Alex Cox’s Final Film Dead Souls Opens August 14th in NYC
Alex Cox, director of Repo Man, Sid & Nancy, Walker, Straight to Hell, and others is having one final film come out and it’s a western called Dead Souls. It premieres in NYC at the Roxy Cinema on August 14th with Cox starring in it. His movies have been a hit or miss to me but will be interesting what he comes up with for his final film. The movie synopsis is: For his directorial swan song, Alex Cox (Repo Man, Straight To Hell) stars in this frontier fable of American greed.
New York State Of Ska Happening Soon in August and September

The Abruptors, Girth Control, Ben Basile, and The Doomstompers will be showcasing a modern mixture of ska, rocksteady, ska-punk, and reggae. The lineup will rotate each night with the hometown artist headlining their city. The shows are happening August 14 & 15th and September 25th & 26th.

Mark Chadwick announces solo album ‘Ouse Dragon’
Mark Chadwick of the Levellers is set to release a new solo album called Ouse Dragon on August 21st on the band’s label On the Fiddle Recordings. This is his last solo album since Moments came out in 2014. Can you listen to the new track here. O’Leary wastes absolutely no time making “Bad Decisions” the killer opening salvo of the record, and ensuing track “Lady Luck” will have you reaching for the roulette wheel (and probably a bourbon too).
Jeff Hulett – “Summer Plans”
Record Label: Small Batch Records The best-laid summer plans sometimes don’t turn out as planned—but take that as a blessing in disguise, as our busy man in Memphis sings on the titular track of this upbeat EP. “I’m making summer plans/Can you make it? I hope you can,” he invites us to consider as the mercury continues to rise. Changing pace, Hulett applies some studio vocal effects on the contemplative “Don’t Give In,” with the similarly reflective “759” following on its heels.
