The Record Herald is an American daily newspaper published weekdays and Saturdays in Washington Court House, Ohio. It is owned by Ohio Community Media, a subsidiary of Versa Capital Management.
Founded as a weekly in 1858, the Herald has published daily since at least 1916. Two dailies, The Record-Republican and the Washington C.H. Herald, merged in 1937 to form the current newspaper, which was known as the Washington C.H. Record-Herald before dropping the city name and the hyphen in 1972. Source

Fayette County Pelotonia Committee sets 11th annual cancer research fundraiser WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — The Fayette County Pelotonia Committee will hold its 11th annual Pelotonia fundraiser Saturday, July 25, at Champions Grill at the Greens Golf Course. The event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and will feature dinner, drinks, a live band, silent and live auctions, and a 50-50 raffle. Admission tickets can be purchased at the door for $25.
Greg Phipps named new Fayette County workforce development coordinator
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Greg Phipps has been selected as the new Fayette County workforce development coordinator, the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) announced. The position is funded and managed through a partnership involving the SOESC, Miami Trace Local Schools, Washington Court House City Schools, the city of Washington Court House and the Fayette County commissioners. Phipps replaces Rob Enochs, who is transitioning to a new role with Miami Trace Local Schools.

Second Chance Center of Hope announces upcoming events, open backpack registration
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Chiquita Nash, director of the Second Chance Center of Hope, has announced the center’s upcoming events for the remainder of 2026. Registration for the annual back-to-school backpack program for Fayette County students in need is open through July 24. Families who only need backpacks without supplies must still register. The upcoming event schedule includes: Sept. 26: The Between a Rock and a Hard Place Walk, a fundraiser benefiting community members in need.

17-year-old dies in two-vehicle crash in Highland County SALEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 17-year-old was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at a Highland County intersection, authorities said. Brice Lynch, of Seaman, was pronounced dead at the scene after the car he was driving failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a pickup truck, according to highway patrol investigators.
