There’s a lot of tech jargon that goes into explaining them, but to keep things accessible, think of drivers as your speakers, and planar magnetic drivers as an ultra-thin variant that offers up a more accurate representation of sound, less distortion, and in the right hands, a higher frequency response.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.5 out of 5. Price at the time of review: $299.99 / £299.99 Normally when I review headphones, I’ve got several words floating around my head to describe how they sound. With the WH-1000XM5 from Sony, I have one: Versatile. There is very little these headphones can’t do, and they’re one of the few sets of cans that sound great without the need for an equalizer, although to get even more out of these you’ll want to play around to see the true depth of their capabilities.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4 out of 5. Price at time of review: $19.99 / £19.99. It’s easy to see where the ATOM controller from CRKD fits, and what it is and isn’t trying to accomplish. This micro device isn’t trying to compete with the likes of 8BitDo or Razer to be the best controller going. It’s not even a direct opponent to CRKD’s own excellent Nintendo Switch dock-controller hybrid, the Nitro Deck.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 3.5 out of 5. Price at time of review: $129.99/£120 (I’ve seen them as low as $80/ £89.99). I’ve made no secret about how much I adore Edifier’s other earphones, the NeoBuds Pro 2. I’m someone who will normally always go with headphones over earphones due to the difference in quality. But the NeoBuds changed that thanks to some seriously killer audio prowess. How do the NeoDots compare? It all depends what you’re after.

If you’re a Fortnite Festival or Clone Hero player unsure about picking up the CRKD x Fortnite Festival NEO S Purple Wave controller, I’ve been using it as my main gaming controller and believe it’s a solid pick-up as long as you know exactly what it is and isn’t you’re getting. I’m going to split this review into two parts.

Especially if vinyl is your jam. Sure, there’s thrift shops and pre-owned online marketplaces, but if you want the latest record from your favorite artist, the cost ends up spiraling over time. That vinyl box in the corner of your room? Yeah, if you buy new, it’s likely worth several hundred bucks.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4 out of 5. Price at time of review: $30 to $70 / £30 to £70. If I had to pick one area where the Nintendo Switch could use a revamp, it’s the joy-con controllers. Sure, when you’re potato-ing it up on the couch, they’re great. But the moment you switch into handheld mode, the joy-con feel thin and lack the depth of a traditional controller.

Following the release of support for ARM64 devices, the popular PS3 emulator RCPS3 has come to the Raspberry Pi 5. Discussing the announcement over on the official website, the RCPS3 team says that due to the Raspberry Pi 5 housing an ARM-based CPU and at least 8GB of RAM — the recommended amount of RAM needed to run the PS3 emulator — it made sense to try and get RCPS3 running on the device.

Almost every Anbernic review I’ve written has the same complaint: The stock operating system is painfully dull. Thankfully, custom firmware is here to rectify Anbernic’s biggest shortcoming. My personal pick for Anbernic devices is the excellent Knulli. Not only is Knulli super-stylish, it’s also surprisingly simple to use, and any problems it does have can be fixed fairly simply.

I’ve been playing Infinity Nikki and while it’s great, controller support on PC needs a fair bit of work. Because of this, I decided to switch to my trusty AYN Odin 2 to see how it runs on there. As it turns out, Infinity Nikki isn’t currently supported, but that hasn’t stopped me finding a workaround to let me play. This method should also work with any Android device that’s currently unsupported, and the Odin 2 Mini, too.
