The Road Haulage Association
Trade Association
The Road Haulage Association has 8,500 members, ranging from owner operators to those with fleets of over 1000 vehicles. Between them, they account for well over 100K commercial vehicles currently operating on UK roads. We campaign on behalf of our members on an ever-increasing range of subjects from speed limits to roadside facilities, clean air zones to issues surrounding cross border traffic – sea or land. Our policy team work closely with the Government and their agencies in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast as well as local authorities across the UK. We ensure members’ voices are heard on national issues as well as local roads policy. Whether you are having problems with Direct Vision Standards in London or overgrown trees in County Antrim then our team are there to help. Our technical team are in constant dialogue with members to ensure that they are running compliant vehicles and our in-house trainers deliver comprehensive, accredited courses at our training facilities in Peterborough and Bathgate. Training can also be held at members’ premises. The RHA, established in 1945, is the UKs only trade body dedicated solely to the operators of commercial vehicles – trucks, coaches and vans. Source

RHA welcomes 'Time to Pay Up' crackdown on late payments
This week the Government announced its "Time to Pay Up" plan, a crackdown on late payments that impacts businesses throughout the supply chain, including many of our members and businesses in our industry. We welcome this development, as late payments significantly impact businesses. Running a business is becoming more expensive month on month. Higher operating costs and lower volumes are regular features for many operators.
