You haven’t been paying attention. Men are keen on trying to manipulate their wives into acting better, which is a horrible approach. A bunch of misogynists in a small Internet space figured out a better way long ago, and most of my work, and the content of this piece is related to the idea of how to run a relationship when you can’t manipulate women. The question I keep in the back of my mind is: how do I show that Rex is jealous and selfless? A freak out over a CD from a high school friend, changing a tire in the desert, or one of a dozen situations or actions they take throughout the story to show the characters who they are, who they need to become, and when they have to make those choices. I can’t do it all at once either. It’s too much to keep in my head. So I write a story once, twice, and three times.

I hate reading peoples opinion pieces on dating, sex, relationships or just the overview of the Sexual Marketplace (SMP) for the same reason I hate reading opinion pieces on most things: they are aimed at people with no real world experience and thus focus on abstract and dubious statistics, force fed to illustrate a manufactured pain point which funnels people into whatever particular subscription based community the author is selling. Worse yet, some do it for the love of the game.
