Doozey, Red Jumpsuit Apparatis will perform in Ripon
Doozey perform during last year’s Ripon Summer Concert Series. The band returns Friday to the Village Green. The Horicon Bank Ripon Summer Concert Series continues Friday, Aug. 14 with a performance by Doozey. This free community concert will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Village Green in downtown Ripon. Hailing from Appleton, Wis., Doozey has become one of the state’s most exciting live acts by blending pop, rock, alternative and indie influences into an energetic concert experience.
Support the First We Live Foundation by participating in the Nicole Moniz Memorial 5k
To the Editor: Last week’s article on the First We Live Foundation’s commitment to providing therapy dogs in our schools, at community events and in our police force can be supported by participating in the Nicole Moniz Memorial 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at Vines and Rushes, north of Ripon. The $30 fee will help support the therapy dog program and other efforts the foundation makes to support the mental health of students and those in the caring professions.
Ripon receives $1.61M state grant for Pacific Street bridge
The pacific street bridge will be redone thanks to $1.61 million in state funding that the city of Ripon received as part of the Local Small Structure Improvement Program. The city of Ripon received around $1.61 million in state funding to help repair or replace an aging structure on a local road. Olszewski named as new principal of Barlow Park
Ripon Area School District Superintendent Ron Rivard announced Mackenzie Olszewski as the next principal of Barlow Park Elementary School. The Board of Education approved her hire during a special meeting Friday. She replaces Shawn Gartzke, who resigned from the position last month after two years to take the principal job at Clovis Grove Elementary School in the Menasha Joint School District.
