Pokhara Avengers and Sudurpashchim Royals will face each other today at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur under the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) has once again resurfaced in Nepal, infecting more than 22,000 cows and buffaloes over the past two and a half months. According to the Department of Livestock Services, a total of 22,256 cattle have been infected nationwide, with 636 reported deaths so far. Koshi Province has been hit the hardest, accounting for 22,112 infected animals and 637 deaths.

One of the most culturally significant festivals of Darchula, known as ‘Bire Jaat’, has officially begun in the remote villages of Ksheti and Ghajir in Api Himal Rural Municipality–3. The festival starts annually on the tenth day of the bright fortnight of the Nepali month of Shrawan and lasts for 17 days. Popular Tamil actor Madhan Bob has passed away. He died on Saturday due to health issues, according to a source close to his family. He was 71 years old and had been fighting cancer. He took his last breath at his home in Adyar. His real name was S Krishnamoorthy, and he was the eighth child in his family. He was well known in the Tamil film industry and acted with stars like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Ajith, Surya, and Vijay.

Due to ongoing heavy rainfall in the hilly regions, the Koshi River has recorded its highest water flow of the year on Sunday, raising concerns among authorities and locals alike. As measured at 2 PM on Sunday, the water flow in the river surged to 189,390 cusecs per second, according to Saptari’s Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal. He added that the water level is still rising, and further increases are expected if the rain continues upstream.
