ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- Hockey Day Minnesota will once again have a St. Cloud flair to it in 2027. The full Hockey Day 2027 schedule has been announced, and St. Cloud State University's Men's Hockey Team will take on the University of St. Thomas on Saturday, January 30th as part of the 21st Annual event. The matches and festivities take place over five days starting on Tuesday, January 26th. The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with Northern Lakes taking on Detroit Lakes in Girls Varsity Hockey.
Three SUVs Collided On Highway 55 Near Buffalo Saturday Afternoon
ROCKFORD TOWNSHIP (WJON News) -- Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash near Buffalo on Saturday afternoon. The crash happened on Highway 55 near the intersection of County Road 32 at about 4:00 p.m. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, an SUV being driven by 24-year-old Andrea Waterhouse of Buffalo and a second SUV being driven by 23-year-old Olivia Duo of Plymouth were both going west on Highway 55 when they collided.
Three People Hurt In I-94 Crash Near Melrose Saturday
MELROSE TOWNSHIP (WJON News) -- Two adults and a young boy were sent to the hospital after a crash Saturday afternoon near Melrose. The incident took place about 1:15 p.m. on Interstate 94. The Minnesota State Patrol says a car being driven by 33-year-old Jackie Dennis of Sandy Springs, GA, and a car being driven by 26-year-old Demetrius Rosas of St. Paul were both going west on I-94 near mile marker 132 when they crashed. Dennis was taken to the Melrose Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Minot Scores Eight Runs Late To Stun The St Cloud Rox
WATFORD CITY, ND (WJON News) -- The St. Cloud Rox (32-18) came out on the wrong end of a slugfest on Saturday. The Minot Hot Tots (19-32) toppled the Rox 13-10 in the first game of a two-game series. The Rox got off to a big 7-1 lead early by putting up two runs in the second, three in the third, and two more in the fourth. The offensive outburst was led by Jaxien Frost with a two-RBI double, Austin Haley, and Tanner Recchio with a double and a steal of home.

SARTELL (WJON News) -- A major update project continues to move forward at an area school. The installation of the new Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning system (HVAC) is in year one of a two-year process at Riverview Intermediate School for the Sartell-St. Stephen School District.
Swimmer Killed by Apparent Electric Shock on Minnesota Lake
Cook, MN (MinnesotaNow) - Authorities are investigating an electrocution death on a northeastern Minnesota lake. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says the deadly incident was reported shortly before 4:50 p.m. Friday on Lake Vermilion. Emergency crews responded to a property on the east end of the lake, about five miles north of Cook, where it was reported that a man was in the water and was being electrocuted by a boat.
A St. Cloud Horror Film Is Heading To The Big Screen
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- A new movie created right here in St. Cloud will make its debut in about a week. "Demon," a horror-thriller produced by St. Cloud's Pale Horse Studio, will hit the big screen at Quarry Cinema in Cold Spring with a showing on Saturday, July 25th and Monday, July 27th.
One Man Hurt In A Two-car Crash On I-94
MONTICELLO (WJON News) -- One person was hurt in a crash in Monticello on Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Interstate 94. The Minnesota State Patrol says an SUV being driven by 63-year-old Oscar Marquez of Northfield and a second SUV being driven by 72-year-old Bruce Nelson of Plymouth were both going east on I-94 when they crashed near milepost 192. Marquez was taken to CentraCare Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Nelson was not hurt in the crash.
UPDATE: SUSPECT ARRESTED IN 9TH AVENUE SOUTH ASSAULT
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- Police have arrested one of two suspects involved in the assault of a Sauk Rapids woman. The St. Cloud Police Department says they arrested 21-year-old Arianna White of St. Cloud at her residence at about 8:00 p.m. on Friday. On July 11th, officers responded to the 1000 block of 9th Avenue South at around 3:20 a.m. They arrived to find a 23-year-old Sauk Rapids woman had been assaulted by two women in the parking lot of a business in the area.
