The Minnesota Vikings are heading into the 2026-2027 season with plenty of questions fans want answered, the biggest being how new quarterback Kyler Murray will lead an offense filled with talent. One question is already answered at kicker, where Will Reichard has established himself as one of the best kickers in the NFL.

MELROSE TOWNSHIP (WJON News) -- Two teenagers were hurt in an ATV crash near Melrose on Saturday. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to an ATV rollover just before Noon. The caller reported a crash with injuries in the 34000 block of Westfield Road in Melrose Township. The sheriff's office says the driver of the machine, 17-year-old Faith Tschida of Sartell, was westbound on Westfield Road when she lost control on a curve and rolled end-over-end in the ditch.

This isn't something anyone really wants to hear at any time. We have been experiencing closures in the hospitality industry since the pandemic. Some places just couldn't dig themselves out of the hole that was created by that unfortunate world-wide situation. Not all of those casualties happened right away, however. And we are still seeing closures in recent years. It's not been stated if these closures are still a reprocussion of the pandemic shut-downs or not.

Denny's has been an American road-trip and late-night staple for more than 70 years. The chain was founded in 1953 in Lakewood, California, by Harold Butler and Richard Jezak — not as a diner at all, but as a doughnut shop called Danny's Donuts. It picked up the Denny's name by 1961 and grew into one of the country's best-known 24-hour diners, with roughly 1,500 restaurants nationwide today.

ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- A St. Cloud man faces four felony charges for allegedly kidnapping his domestic partner, threatening her, and hitting her. According to the criminal complaint filed in Stearns County District Court, 24-year-old Abdi Mohamed Dakane surprised the victim by entering her car after she returned from the State Fair. Dakane is accused of forcing the woman to drive him around with another man whom the victim didn't know.

If you are like me, you watch a lot of the Food Network. I am a picky eater but I still love watching all the shows, including those with Guy Fieri, of course. He's had a handful of shows over the years but nothing compares to the massive hit Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. He calls it Triple D, which is less of a tongue twister. Ha! There have been too many episodes to count and he's come to our neck of the woods a handful of times as well. He loves a few spots in northern Minnesota.

Girl Scout cookie time of year is many people's favorite time of year. You can either get those delicious boxes of cookies from your favorite Girl Scout, or when you are out and about. Usually you will find Girl Scout troops selling those boxes of cookies in many entry ways of retail stores and grocery stores. Pick up a couple of boxes, help the Girl Scouts and satisfy your sweet tooth. Every year, there are cookies that are to be retired, and some that are introduced as new cookies.

UNDATED (WJON News) -- There should be more opportunities for hunters to bag a pheasant this fall. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources August Roadside Survey shows the pheasant index is up nearly 20% compared to last year. This year's pheasant index showed 90 birds per 100 miles of roads driven, compared to 75 birds in 2025. Pheasant indices were up in the west central, central, and south central regions by 74%, 25%, and 17%, respectively.

ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- A long-time Minneapolis favorite band makes its return to St. Cloud on Saturday. FLIPP is playing at the Red Carpet Nightclub in downtown St. Cloud. The group will be joined by All the Pretty Horses and special guest Venus de Mars. FLIPP formed in Minneapolis in the mid-1990s and quickly built a reputation for hard-driving rock with an anything-can-happen stage show and theatrical costumes.
