Lynn Marie (nee Luebstorf) Jansen Hudson WI. Lynn (age 70) died peacefully at home after a long decline in health on Oct. 08th. She was born Dec. 19 1955 in Tacoma Washington and moved to St. Paul during childhood. She attended Monroe High School class of 74. Remained there until she married Charles and relocated to Wisconsin in 2003. She is preceded in death by parents Micheal and Patricia (Kramer) Luebstorf.

The River Falls Fire Department hosted an open house with a range of activities, providing a chance for the community to experience an evening at the fire station. The event also provided an opportunity for attendees to view the progress of the station’s remodeling, getting a glimpse of developments set to be finished by spring. The annual event took place Sept. 28 this year, modified to fit inside the main garage of the station because of construction. Renovations began in January.

Raymond W. Donajkowski, 68, of Hudson, passed peacefully with his wife by his side, into his eternal home with the Lord on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Regions Hospital, Saint Paul. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 22, 1958, to Clarence and Glores (Ring) Donajkowski. Ray was baptized at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Milwaukee, WI. Ray’s family moved from Milwaukee to Port Washington, WI when Ray was five years old.

We are devastated to share that Brian J. Martell, beloved brother, uncle, and friend, died in the early morning hours of October 4th. He was 67 years old. A lifelong resident of western Wisconsin, Brian grew up on a family farm in Somerset and always loved the land, water, and wildlife of the St. Croix River Valley. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1985 with a BS in Forest Resources. Brian was a talented carpenter, handyman, forester, horticulturist, musician, and writer.

Eagle Eye Farm will host its second annual Pasture Palooza from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at N7802 County Road F, River Falls. The family event gives visitors a chance to see more than 130 animals representing 14 species, including alpacas, kangaroos, porcupines, peacocks and Highland cows. The day includes animal feedings, live music from Hailey James, food from Twin Cities Pita and local vendors.

The UWRF Falcon Women’s Tennis team fell to the reigning Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) champions, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles. The Falcons lost 7-0 in a shutout for the Eagles at the Ramer Tennis Courts in a midweek WIAC match on Sept. 30. “They won our conference last year, so it’s kind of just coming out and having the best attitude that we can,” said Sydney Wiener, a senior who played number two singles and number one doubles.

Jeffrey L. Boley, 64, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep from a pre-existing medical condition on September 29, 2026, at his home. He was born on July 1, 1962, and grew up in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. He spent time living in Madison, Idaho, Eau Claire and Northern Wisconsin before eventually settling in Hudson, Wisconsin. Throughout his life, Jeffrey held many rewarding jobs, but he truly found his passion in over-the-road trucking.

Edith Ann (Struck) Lampman, Apr. 27, 1955 – Sept. 23, 2026 Edith Lampman passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 23rd surrounded by family. Edith was born in Havre, Montana to Lawrence and Eva (McNair) Struck. The family later moved to Dunseith, North Dakota where they purchased Hosmer’s Department Store. Edith became very active in school where her greatest love was music.

Homecoming this week at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls kicked off with the traditional cauldron of Professor Jake's Bean Soup. UWRF Dining, managed by Chartwells Higher Education, broke out physics professor J.P. Jacobson's recipe and his 109-year-old ceremonial paddle to make nine gallons of soup. The recipe originated in 1917, but it was updated about five years ago. Jacobson made the soup for 33 years until he retired in 1950.
