Ever since Margate Pier was destroyed in a storm in 1978 the crew have been housed in a temporary building on the prom, and it’s now showing its age. We now have an opportunity to give our volunteers the permanent home they deserve, which sets lifesaving up in Margate for years to come.

RNLI College Groove and Graze
Fabulous night of funk and soul live music, dancing and celebration with LateShift and a classic buffet. Join us to enjoy a fabulous night of immensely danceable music played by LateShift, the popular Poole based funk and soul group. Doors open to the magical Waterside Suite at the RNLI College at 7pm with its views out over the RNLI lifeboats to Holes Bay and the bar open. Live music will start at 8pm and a celebration classic buffet is included.
Hastings RNLI evolving to meet lifesaving demand
Lifeboats News Release The RNLI has announced that Hastings will receive a new Mk 4 Atlantic 85 class lifeboat in 2027. The capable inshore lifeboat will replace the current Shannon class all-weather lifeboat Richard and Caroline Colton which has operated from the station since 2018. This decision has been made as part of a wider strategy across the charity ensuring it has the most appropriate lifeboats in the right places which will save the greatest number of lives and keep our people safe.

Lifeboats News Release WARNING: Contains footage and detail which may be distressing Saving Lives at Sea returns to BBC Two this week with a new series featuring never seen before footage and interviews with Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) volunteers from a rescue in the English Channel. The harrowing rescue – captured on the helmet cameras of the volunteer lifeboat crew - saw 19 people rescued from the water after Dover RNLI responded to an early morning mayday.
