On Wednesday evening, a nervous Trump stiffly read a speech to the nation that said . . . nothing new. Trump repeated empty phrases and lies that he has posted ad nauseam on Truth Social over the last four weeks. Even Trump was bored by his pointless speech. To the extent that Trump said (er, repeated) anything substantive, the high points are as follows: Reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Trump washed his hands of responsibility for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Evidence continues to mount that No Kings Day 3.0 was an unqualified success by every measure. Reliable data is difficult to come by—a fact that reflects the decentralized nature of the grassroots resistance. But as reports continue to trickle into the few news outlets covering NKD3, several encouraging trends are emerging: There were more protests in red states than in prior No Kings protests.

Three former presidents and a former vice president spoke at the memorial service for Rev. Jesse Jackson.

I will host my regular livestream on Saturday, March 7, at 9 am Pacific / Noon Eastern. The battle against ICE’s brutal mass deportation tactics is far from over. But the resistance to those tactics by the people of Minnesota and the nation has been both heroic and effective.

As Trump continues his illegal war against Iran, the House Oversight Committee is losing patience with the DOJ’s cover-up of Trump’s involvement with Epstein’s sex trafficking operation. After the Wall Street Journal reported that the DOJ was withholding over 40,000 documents, the DOJ acknowledged that “47,635 files were offline for further review and should be ready for re-production by the end of the week.” See WSJ, There Are 47,635 Epstein Files Offline for Review, DOJ Says.

Trump started an illegal war on Iran just as the DOJ was under intense pressure to release three FBI interviews with a 13-year-old-girl who accused Trump of sexual abuse. The attack on Iran should not reduce public pressure for the release of documents that may shed light on that accusation and the DOJ’s complicity in covering up Trump’s involvement in the Epstein sex trafficking enterprise.

In states holding midterm primaries on Tuesday, the throughline was Democratic enthusiasm. In blue and red states alike, Democratic turnout in open and closed primaries was strong, reaching near-record levels in some states. Although Republican turnout was strong, as well, it was eclipsed by Democratic enthusiasm.

The DOJ has gone into silent mode about the Epstein files, hoping that Trump’s illegal war on Iran will provide cover for Pam Bondi’s cover-up of Trump’s involvement in Epstein’s sex trafficking enterprise. As we continue to raise our voices in the streets, justice for the Epstein victims and accountability for the perpetrators must be part of our messaging. We cannot look away from one set of crimes because of the unfolding disaster in the Middle East.

These are trying times. But together, there is nothing we cannot do.
