Missouri women’s tennis added one of the most accomplished incoming players in program history on Sunday, signing Romanian freshman Alexandra-Irina Anghel to join the Tigers for the 2026-27 season. The 19-year-old arrives in Columbia with significant professional experience, holding a career-high Women’s Tennis Association ranking of No. 530 in doubles and No. 1,101 in singles.

Star running back Ahmad Hardy has been medically cleared after being shot in the leg in May, Eli Drinkwitz told reporters at SEC Media Days on Monday morning. “We anticipate that he will make a recovery,” Drinkwitz told reporters. “What that recovery will look like after having a bullet strike you is still to be determined.” According to Drinkwitz, the running back will begin a return-to-play protocol that will take one to two months depending on Hardy’s recovery.

Every championship team leaves behind clues. The trophies, rankings and final matches may define a program’s success, but the foundation is built long before a team reaches the biggest stage. Over the last three seasons, the NCAA women’s tennis champions have looked different on the surface, but their roster construction has followed a similar formula. International recruiting. Impact freshmen. Experienced transfers. A veteran presence to connect generations.

Yet Missouri volleyball is already making headlines. Not because of what is happening inside the Hearnes Center, but because of the women who once called it home.

Missouri’s cross country program has finalized its full schedule for the 2026 season, with loads to dive in to. Head coach Brett Halter released the schedule Friday, and it is jam-packed with heavy hitting matchups, elite competition on the road and a massive postseason home field advantage. Here is how the road to the championships looks for the Tigers this fall, along with a look back at how they fared on some of these courses last season.

It’s finally here! It’s awards season at Rock M Nation, and we’ve got A LOT to celebrate from the 2025-26 school year over the next few weeks. A year after the gymnastics program made history in their first Four on the Floor, the women’s golf team KILLED it and had a program-changing year. Newcomer Ahmad Hardy did all the things. We finally saw Trent Burns play in an actual basketball game. Collier Dyer won a national title. Maya Sands was SEC Libero of the Year (again).

That’s all that separates Missouri volleyball from its annual Black and Gold Scrimmage on Aug. 8, the first glimpse of a team attempting to return to the NCAA Tournament after last season’s step backward. A week later comes the exhibition against Drake on Aug. 15, another opportunity for coach Dawn Sullivan to sort through a roster filled with new faces, returning talent and unanswered questions. For now, though, the lineup exists only on paper.

Incoming transfer wide receiver Caleb Goodie is fast, and that speed can change an entire offense. Take it from Mizzou Athletics: “(He) Ranked among the nation’s top five fastest wide receivers in average speed according to Telemetry Sports, a data and analytics company used by more than 50 NFL and college football programs…” On the surface, the statistics show it as well. In 2024 at Colorado State, Goodie collected 436 yards on just 21 receptions.
