ROUNDCHECK has announced the appointment of Babatunde Titilola as its new Programmes Director. This is a step aimed at strengthening the organisation’s programme development and expanding its Media and Information Literacy (MIL) initiatives. Titilola is a lawyer, award-winning journalist, and policy researcher with a strong focus on migration, development, human rights, governance, and accountability.

Campus journalist and ROUNDCHECK’S gender researcher, Iretomiwa Balogun, has added another achievement to her growing career after winning the maiden Fact-Check Category and finishing as runner-up in the Gender Reporting Category at the 7th Campus Journalism Awards (CJA) held on 6th December, 2025, at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. Both entries were published under ROUNDCHECK’s Gender Disinformation desk, and have now earned her recognition not only in Nigeria but also across the continent.

Iretomiwa Balogun, a student journalist with Nigeria’s fact-checking platform ROUNDCHECK, has been named the first runner-up at the prestigious 2025 African Fact-Checking Awards, held in Senegal. She made the finalist in the Student Journalist category of the award, beating others to make the top list. The African Fact-Checking Awards, now in their 12th year, are Africa’s longest-running recognition program dedicated to honouring excellence in fact-checking journalism across the continent.
