Kim Rolland and Kathy Young at Derby Day Dinner at Red Antler Derby Day may be a new tradition in Round Top. The hats are big, the bourbon pours are generous, and the celebration finds its way back to supporting the community. Red Antler owners John Cone and Greg Fourticq Jr. gave the Derby a philanthropic stage, hosting the inaugural Run for the Roses Derby Day Dinner in support of the Round Top Family Library.

On the night of Saturday, May 16, there is no cuter or more fashionable place to be than at RoundTop Rifle Hall as the most stylish pups in town and their owners take the catwalk in Vanity Fur – the 2026 Mutt Gala Fashion Extravaganza benefiting Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this annual gala and fundraiser welcomes more than 300 people each year to support one of the town’s local nonprofits that does so much for the animals of the area.

Today, Helen McLaren continues the legacy started by her late husband, Sean McLaren — traveling the world to thoughtfully choose antiques, industrial and architectural furnishings.

Thompson + Hanson Farms hosted its first Art of Design event at the brand's gracious regenerative farm and event space in La Grange during the Fall 2025 Round Top Antiques & Design Show, ushering in a hushed spirit of the main event with a panel of entrepreneurs, and a smattering of gorgeous antiques and handcrafted decor. Red Antler Hotel was a hub for design and architecture lovers when owners John Cone and Greg Fourticq hosted cocktails and book signings for L.A.-based designer Peter Dunham, Nashville/NYC designer Ray Booth and Houston architect Bill Curtis of Curtis & Windham Architects. Guests gathered in the gracious James Cabana and pool house designed by Meredith Ellis, who was in town with husband, Hunter Ellis; they're the co-owners of James showroom in Houston, Dallas, and NYC.

The second annual Round Top Film Festival Gala illuminated the Windy Knoll event venue in Round Top last month, creating an electric atmosphere. Nearly 250 guests, including passionate film lovers, Round Top royalty, and luminaries from Houston and Austin’s social circles, gathered for a sparkling summer soirée that celebrated both cinema and community. Guests arrived dressed in “Round Top chic” attire—think stylish cowboy boots, vibrant turquoise jewelry, and fashionable western hats.
