row2k was formed in Spring 1997 in response to the utter absence of rowing information about a couple championships, especially the EAWRC Sprints, at which Ed had coached and still helps to run. After posting race times, dates, and directions to Lake Waramaug to rec.sport.rowing a few dozen times in a few days, Ed threw up some homemade HTML and got the word out. row2k was born. Source

Proposed Congressional Bill Would Limit the Number of Internationals on Varsity Rosters to 20%
A new bill introduced this week by US Representative Tim Walberg (R-MI) and US Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) would cap the number of international athletes allowed on a roster at 20% of any varsity sports team. The legislators are calling H.R. 10351 the Training and Education for American Members in University Sports and Athletics, or the TEAM USA Act.
