(Submitted) Claudia Culley graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University last spring, completing a bachelor’s in journalism and a diploma in public relations. Outside of the classroom, Culley was involved with The Runner where she worked in multiple roles. She started as video producer, moved to associate editor, then managing editor, and ultimately, editor-in-chief.

As soon as I got a hold of the digital world, I was deeply immersed in a place that felt like home — the ‘80s and ‘90s. Gen Z is nostalgic for eras we never lived through because it feels more like home than what we have now.

Premier David Eby made the announcement at KPU’s Tech campus in Cloverdale on July 28. (Submitted) The B.C. government announced 462 new trade training seats at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. With the added seats, KPU’s trade training spots grew to 1,762.

Art by Sofiya Lobkova. Stepping onto university grounds for the first time can be daunting. Balancing classes with work, assignments, and life is no easy feat. Kwantlen Polytechnic University has many upper-level students who know what it’s like to be in their first year. Fourth-year journalism student Jenna Arnett understands the intimidating transition to university life. In a statement to The Runner, Arnett wrote that she took a break after graduating high school before starting at KPU in 2022.

United Way BC receives a $3,950 donation from the Vancouver Guandan Association. (Submitted) The Vancouver Guandan Association (VGA) presented nearly $4,000 to United Way BC to continue ongoing wildfire relief efforts in Okanagan on Aug. 19. Founded in 2018, the VGA is a non-profit social organization in Vancouver formed by Guandan enthusiasts.
