Young adults who age out of foster care have little to no help once they hit the streets. Young single mothers and parents have nowhere to turn to learn job skills while taking care of their child’s needs. Students with learning disabilities have few choices when it comes to on-the-job training that includes entrepreneurship.

Bookmark this May 22, 2025 Daily Bread Ministries fills the gap of being out of school by providing food and equipping Spiritual Leaders to help their neighbors overcome poverty. From picnic tables under shady trees to backyard Bible clubs with bubbles, games, and giggles, this is what summer is meant to be. Lots of laughter, connection, purpose, and food! However, that becomes difficult when money is tight, and decisions between feeding your child or purchasing your medicine are common.

Local ministry Retreat4Kids continues growth by adding services for sexually exploited girls. The nurse asked her to remove her clothing and put on a hospital gown. She was only 12 years old and shy, but she managed to get the gown on. In the process, the trained nurse noticed the marks of sexual abuse. She also saw dilated pupils, a sign that the young girl may be on drugs.

Local ministry 1HOPE for Kids is leading the charge to solve the foster care crisis. The brother and sister looked at each other with tears in their eyes. They lost their birth parents two years ago. They didn’t recognize the woman who seemed to be in charge, but they sensed they were moving to a new family—their third in the last fifteen months. Their belongings fit into two trash bags with room to spare. They didn’t know it yet, but they would be sent to a different state and different families.
