ST KILDA have fallen short to a classy Richmond outfit at RSEA Park, with a 48-point loss against the Tigers bringing the Saints’ VFL year to a close. Out of finals contention heading into the final round, the clash was St Kilda’s final game in what has been a history-making season, returning to the VFL competition for the first time in over 25 years. The Saints were undoubtedly in the hunt for the first half, however it was the Tigers who were able to convert their chances more efficiently.
Owens boots five as several Saints star in Tigers mauling
IN A scrappy affair, a trio of Saints stood out above the rest. Veteran Brad Hill notched up 41 disposals in a stunning individual performance in his side's comfortable 49-point win over Richmond at the MCG on Saturday afternoon. In the former Hawk and Docker's 299th game, Hill had 710m gained and 10 score involvements and was awarded the Ian Stewart Medal for his best on ground efforts.
Owens boots five as Saints stay in wildcard hunt after Tigers mauling
ST KILDA has comfortably accounted for Richmond with a 49-point win at the MCG on Saturday afternoon. Mitch Owens led the way with a career-best five goals as the Saints cruised to the 14.10 (94) to 6.9 (45) victory that keeps their very slim wildcard hopes alive. St Kilda has to win next week against Gold Coast, and hope Carlton loses its final two games, in order to sneak into 10th spot.
VFL Team Selection: Round 21 v Richmond
St Kilda has made six changes for its season-ending VFL clash with Richmond at RSEA Park on Saturday. Key defender Anthony Caminiti joins the side following his omission from St Kilda's AFL line-up, alongside fellow inclusions Josh Kol, Josh Clarke, Tyson McKenzie, Tyson Nagel and Noah Bourke. Alix Tauru, Angus Hastie, Dan Butler and Jack Macrae exit the side following AFL selection, while Dougal Howard (managed) and Christian Algeri (omitted) are also sidelined.

Veterans Jack Macrae and Dan Butler have both been named to take on the Tigers, looking to provide their valuable leadership and steer the Saints to their 10th win of the season. Both have starred in their recent VFL outings, with Macrae averaging 28.5 disposals and 7.3 tackles per game over the last month and Butler collecting 23 disposals and a goal in the side's win over Carlton.

St Kilda Football Club congratulates two-time Coleman Medallist and club great Fraser Gehrig, who this year becomes the second of four players to be inducted into the St Kilda Hall of Fame. The man affectionally known as "The G-Train" is arguably the most famous cult figure in St Kilda history, with his flowing mullet and massive frame a staple of the 2000's Saints.

AFLW Injury Update: Young star to miss extended period
The Saints will be without young gun J’Noemi Anderson for the coming weeks after the 21-year-old suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s season opener. Anderson was ruled out of the clash shortly into the second half, with scans confirming a moderate-grade hamstring strain. Meanwhile, Darcy Guttridge is showing positive signs after being withdrawn from Sunday’s squad following a back aggravation at main training on Friday, and is expected to be available in the lead-up to Round 2.
