The Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) has stepped up efforts to convene an all-parties conference (APC), deciding to contact Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Awami National Party (ANP), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and other political groups after its contacts with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The alliance has already invited the leadership of the  Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to the proposed APC and has also contacted the leadership of the Awaam Pakistan Party.

Five crew members, including three Pakistanis, were killed during an operation by Somalia’s Puntland Security Force to recover the hijacked vessel Honour 25 from pirates. The five dead crew members included three Pakistanis, one Indian and one Myanmar national, according to the ship’s captain, who spoke to a representative of the Ansar Burney Trust. The Pakistan Navy has located the black box of a K2 Airways cargo aircraft that crashed into the sea off Karachi in July. The Pakistan Navy is continuing a large-scale operation to locate the aircraft’s wreckage under water. According to the Pakistan Navy, the black box has been located at a depth of 3,200 metres in the sea. Special equipment developed by the National Engineering and Scientific Commission helped locate the device.

HSD drops by Rs2.73 to Rs402.24 The price of petrol has fallen by Rs1.49 per litre to Rs387.54, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has dropped by Rs2.73 to Rs402.24 per litre. Earlier on Monday, regulatory authorities had reduced petrol and diesel prices, with the revised rates taking effect on September 29.

Several Yemeni civil society organisations have said that continued Houthi actions and serious violations have further deepened the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that an emergency may be imposed if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reaches Islamabad on October 4, while the options of governor’s rule, emergency and talks remain on the table. Speaking on Samaa TV programme 'Nadeem Malik Live', Sanaullah said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was creating obstacles to the federal government’s measures against terrorism and was not fulfilling its responsibility for maintaining law and order.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai will hold a meeting after the prime minister’s return to Pakistan, with the government set to contact the opposition leader to finalise the schedule, sources said. Consultations are under way on a wide agenda for the meeting. Important political matters, parliamentary affairs and the political situation will be discussed.
