Same Difference
Blog
Hello Internet! I’m Samedifference1… AKA Sarah. I believe that Disability is simply the Ability NOT to do something, so we should never forget the fact that we wouldn’t have DisAbilities unless someone had Abilities. Nothing is normal, because everything is normal. Normal is what you make it.
And so, World Wide Web… I bring you Same Difference. Here, I celebrate both similarities and differences between myself and the mainstream.
I report disability news, discuss disability representation on TV, in books, in movies and in theatre, celebrate progress in Disability Rights and rant about Disability Wrongs. Source

The former Gurkha has completed an extraordinary challenge, becoming the first double above-the-knee amputee to climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.

Adidas Faces Boycott Calls Over Controversial Campaign Featuring Former Israeli Soldier
A new Adidas advertising campaign has ignited a fierce debate over the relationship between sport, corporate marketing and the war in Gaza. The campaign promotes Adidas’ service that allows amputees to purchase a single shoe rather than a pair. At the centre of the advertisement is Shalev Biton, a former Israeli army soldier who lost a leg after being wounded during the 2021 Israel-Gaza conflict. The campaign shows him trying on a shoe in an Israeli Adidas store before running outdoors.
