The Ford Foundation has announced the election of Ursula Burns as the new chair of its Board of Trustees. Burns will become the 13th board chair of the foundation, succeeding Dr. Francisco Cigarroa. She is the first African American woman to serve as board chair in the Ford Foundation’s 90-year history. Burns joined the board in 2015 and serves as chair of the Audit Committee. She is also a member of the Executive Committee.
