One of the big complaints engineers working with AI have is that it has no memory, so users basically have to start from scratch, re-prompting the same data and conversations it had shared with the model the day before. It was Groundhog Day for engineering. Today, Anthropic solves that issue by announcing the same memory it used in chat is now built into Claude Cowork. The result allows users to pick up where they had left off, and the context provided over months of conversations is saved.

SAN FRANCISCO — GitLab Inc., the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, has announced updates that give enterprises more control as they scale agentic software development. GitLab Dedicated customers, who already run their most sensitive software delivery workloads on GitLab, can now run GitLab Duo Agent Platform inside that same single tenant environment and region, connect their own models for inference, and keep AI-processed data inside their existing security boundary.

AI assistants are writing C faster than anyone can review it, but SAST scanners that have been used to catch bugs like integer and buffer overflows have struggled with C code. Endor Labs’ AI SAST scans run faster than build-based SAST scans, and according to tests it has run, AI SAST caught 96 of 102 known vulnerabilities in four embedded C projects, which was 48 times the next best buildless pattern-based SAST tool, the company wrote.

Sauce Labs has announced that bring-your-own-model capabilities are available now to Sauce Labs enterprise customers within AURA, the company’s code verification and release assurance platform. The new capabilities allow enterprises to build software with any open source, open weight or proprietary LLM, the company said in its announcement, even being able to change them as technology, regulations or standards evolve while keeping it all governed in one platform.

Recemt reports show that more non-developers are using AI to create apps and to work more quickly. Coupled with the pace of change within frontier models, the need for workers to understand how to use AI safely and effectively grows in urgency. Anthropic has created within its Claude Academy a 4D AI Fluency Framework that includes four competencies: Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence.

Some AI adoption stories are embarrassing, and the embarrassing part is that nobody in the room seems to notice. A development team adds AI coding assistants. Velocity metrics look better by Q2. Then somebody calls the organization AI-native at the next all-hands, the room nods along, and the deck moves to the next slide. The metrics were real. Nobody disputes that. What gets skipped over is whether they were measuring anything that actually mattered. What changed was code output.
