Indian cybersecurity entrepreneur Kunal Panchamia urged developing countries to pursue collaborative AI development at the AI for Developing Countries Forum in Geneva, arguing that smaller nations should not have to build every layer of the AI ecosystem on their own. Panchamia, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of ePROTECT360, made the case during a discussion on whether small nations should build, buy or share AI.

BharatLaw AI has launched DPDPGuard.ai, a platform for businesses preparing to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection regime. The product brings consent management, data-principal rights handling, breach response and retention governance into a single workflow. NETSCOUT has expanded its Adaptive DDoS Protection product to detect and mitigate outbound distributed denial-of-service traffic, targeting service providers dealing with attacks generated by compromised subscriber devices. The extension shifts part of DDoS defence from protecting attack targets to stopping malicious traffic before it leaves an operator's network.

Proofpoint is expanding in India, including plans to open an AI Security Engineering Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad. It plans to hire more than 200 engineers there over the next 12 to 24 months and is adding a new office in Delhi. Acronis has identified a malware cluster targeting telecommunications providers and critical infrastructure organisations in Afghanistan and South Asia. It linked the activity with moderate confidence to APT36 or a closely related Pakistan-linked threat actor. Google Cloud has introduced measures in BigQuery Graph, now in preview. The update adds metric definitions to graph-based data models in BigQuery. The change targets organisations building autonomous AI agents that need to analyse business relationships alongside tabular data. Agents working only from raw tables may identify an outcome but miss the chain of dependencies behind it. BigQuery Graph represents data as connected business entities rather than isolated rows and columns.

Rapid7 has published global research showing that executive security leaders are more concerned than frontline practitioners about AI governance in cybersecurity operations. Executives were 1.6 times more likely to report high concern about how AI vendors handle security data. The findings suggest a shift in the debate around AI in security teams. Adoption is now widespread, and governance is becoming a more prominent issue for senior decision-makers.
