TENEX.AI has expanded its EMEA leadership team and appointed Infinigate as its first distributor in the UK and Ireland, part of the cyber security company's broader European growth push. It has made four senior hires for the region, while the agreement with Infinigate gives it a route to market through the UK and Irish channel. The move follows TENEX.AI's USD $250 million Series B funding round earlier this year.

Women in AI has announced the winners of its 2026 awards for women working in artificial intelligence across the Asia-Pacific region, with Grace Chung named Grand Winner. Labour is promising to set up an AI office, an online safety regulator, copyright rules that ensure creators are paid for their work, and impose rules on data centres. The regulator would have a wider mandate than overseeing a social media ban for under-16s, and the public service would be given "clear expectations" around AI, human oversight, accountability, privacy and consumer and employment protections.

Rubrik has launched Apache Iceberg Protection for Apache Iceberg on AWS, aimed at organisations that need to recover Iceberg tables after a cyber incident. The offering restores complete, queryable tables rather than only the underlying files. It backs up both table data and the metadata that defines the tables, then reconnects the catalogue during recovery. That addresses a problem in lakehouse environments, where native snapshots act as metadata pointers rather than full backups.

TeamViewer has introduced Tia Troubleshooting, which allows its AI support agent to take approved action during remote support sessions. The feature is now generally available across the company's remote support portfolio. The update marks a shift in how Tia is used in IT support. Rather than being limited to recommendations, the tool can now investigate a fault, identify a likely root cause, apply a fix after human approval, and then check whether the issue has been resolved.

OpenAI and UNSW Sydney have launched a collaboration to provide ChatGPT Edu across the university, reaching 80,000 students and staff. The agreement gives students, educators, researchers and professional staff access to the education-focused version of ChatGPT for teaching, research and administrative work. OpenAI described it as its largest ChatGPT education deployment in Asia-Pacific and its first strategic education collaboration in Australia.
