The Croatian/Bulgarian/Slovenian coproduction The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent was shortlisted in the Live Action Short Film category for the 97th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards. February 27, 1993, Strpci, Bosnia and Herzegovina. A passenger train from Belgrade to Bar is stopped by paramilitary forces in an ethnic cleansing operation. As they haul off innocent civilians, only one man out of 500 passengers dares to stand up to them.

‘Emilia Pérez’ Wins Big at 2024 European Film Awards
Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Pérez” won Best Film at the 37th European Film Awards on 7 December 2024, claiming the most overall awards as well with five wins. Coralie Fargeat’s “The Substance” led with nominations, having received recognition in multiple categories, including European Film and European Screenwriter, as well as will multiple technical awards including European Cinematography and European Visual Effects.
Bitola Hosts 5th UNESCO Creative Cities of Film Forum on Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Practices
Held at the Cultural and Information Center of Bitola, the event focused on promoting sustainable filmmaking practices, strengthening cooperation among UNESCO Creative Cities of Film, and showcasing best practices in eco-friendly production. The forum was especially significant for Bitola, which has been a UNESCO Creative City of Film since 2015, and is one of only a few cities in the region with this distinction.
