This exceptional event took place on Sunday, November 30, 2025, with the historic Abdeen Palace Museum providing the magnificent backdrop for celebrating Arab excellence and creativity.

The SEKEM Festival 2025 gathered changemakers, partners, and friends from around the world from October 10–12 in Graz, Stainz, and Flamberg. Over three inspiring days, participants explored how vision becomes action — how ecology, economy, culture, and community can grow together in harmony. The festival opened in Graz with a celebration of vision, sustainability, and collective responsibility for a regenerative future.

The pilot stored daytime solar energy as elevation and irrigated at night by gravity from an ~10,000 m³ reservoir, with day irrigation serving as the comparison. Across wheat, basil, and beans, night irrigation delivered 14–20% water savings, 14–20% yield increases, and 24–30% less water per kilogram of product (m³/kg). Monitoring confirmed reduced evaporative losses and steadier application under cool night conditions.

The Sustainable Development for Global Impact (SDGI) International Conference, held on September 23–24 at Heliopolis University, successfully gathered international experts, researchers, and students to share their voices and perspectives. The two-day conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions and interactive workshops within the four central sustainability pillars: Culture, Ecology, Economy, and Society.

Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development, the higher education and research arm of the SEKEM Initiative, is launching its Inaugural edition international scientific conference, “Sustainable Development for Global Impact (SDGI).” The event will take place on Tuesday, September 23rd, and Wednesday, September 24th.
