Southside wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as No. 2 Ahmad Moore ran in the opening touchdown and successfully completed the two-point conversion to give the team an early lead.
Selma Saints dominate Jemison Tigers in 60-14 victory, clinch playoff spot
The Selma High School Saints delivered a dominant performance against the Jemison Tigers, earning a commanding 60-14 victory in an impressive display of offense and defense. With the win, the Saints secured their place in the playoffs. Jemison opened the game with a touchdown on the first play, successfully converting the two-point attempt to take an early 8-0 lead. The Saints quickly responded with a touchdown of their own, but their two-point conversion was unsuccessful.

Morgan Academy and the Clarke Prep Gators battled in a competitive homecoming matchup, with Morgan pulling ahead to secure a 32–20 victory. Morgan opened their Homecoming game with the kickoff, as No. 1 Sean Pope sent the ball to the Clarke Prep Gators. The Senators struck first when No. 9 Ryder Hughey ran in for a touchdown. Morgan’s two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

The Selma Saints football machine just keeps on rolling. Friday's game was filled with thrills, fancy footwork and a whole lot of laying of the hands. The game against Shelby County at Memorial Stadium started out as a slow back and forth with both teams at zero for quite a while. Mike Hosea kicks it clean down the field. The NFL scouts had to see that! Wildcats had possession, but they're way back. Stopped at the 40 by the Saints. Third and three. Still Wildcats’ possession. But wait.

After a difficult 2025 football season, Selma High Saints opened the 2026 season strong with a 62-0 win over GW Carver High at Memorial Stadium Friday night. Selma entered the season with several key changes: a new coach and several new players. The Saints’ new coach, Charles Moody, came to Selma in the spring from rival Southside High where he built a winning program over seven years.
