Catalans Dragons’ loss to St Helens was ‘really, really disappointing’ according to John Cartwright, who spoke post-match in his presser to confirm that he will remain the club’s head coach beyond 2027 and that he is interested in a move to sign a Hull FC player.

Huddersfield Giants still do not know where they will be playing games in 2027 with managing director Richard Thewlis admitting that the club are still unclear on the matter. The Giants have been intending to move away from the Accu Stadium for some time with owner Ken Davy intent on building a purpose-built stadium with a capacity of around 8,000, somewhere in Huddersfield.

Wigan Warriors boss Matt Peet has praised his side’s resilience and determination after scraping through to victory against Huddersfield Giants. After a shock loss to the Giants earlier in the season, for 70 minutes Huddersfield were well within touching distance of the two points, but two late tries from hat-trick hero Zach Eckersley put the game out of the home side’s reach.

St Helens head coach Paul Rowley spoke with beaming pride about the courage of his young side as they bounced back from last week’s shocking result to beat Catalans Dragons. A response was all that Rowley was after and he got all of that and more as St Helens came from behind to win 34-18 and it was their young players who were at the heart of the victory.

With the score level at 10-10 heading into the quarter, the Giants looked in a great position to claim the points, but after fighting valiantly for 74 minutes, their final six just allowed the game to get out of reach, and two late tries from Zach Eckersley, who scored a hat-trick, saw Wigan run away with it in the end.
