Today, I am sharing personal news: I have recently been diagnosed with cancer. I am receiving excellent medical care, and I feel well, supported by my partner, family, and close friends. It is with deep regret that I share that I have decided to step down from my role as President and Vice-Chancellor, effective December 31, 2026. This decision has not been made lightly.

As populations age and more people live with chronic illness, disability, or social isolation, it is important to understand this form of abuse and develop effective prevention, detection, and intervention strategies.
