Share the Worlds Resources
Rise in poverty is ‘a wake-up call for the world’, UN development chief says
The number of people living in “multidimensional” poverty has risen for the first time in 15 years, reaching 1.2 billion, as families struggle to meet their basic needs. Reported by UN News. The finding comes in the 2026 update of the global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Oxford University, which measures overlapping hardship across health, education and standard of living.

Can AI’s threat awaken humanity in time?
AI confronts us with a choice we can no longer postpone—share and cooperate to secure the wellbeing of the whole, or continue competing toward our common destruction, writes Dr. David C. Korten for the Guardian. Artificial intelligence confronts humanity with a paradox of historic significance. Used to enhance human cooperation and shared learning in service to life, AI can be a powerful tool for creating a world that works for all.
Share the Worlds Resources
A campaign to address global economic inequality
The campaign for a coordinated response to global economic inequality is picking up momentum at the UN General Assembly, writes Dr. Lawrence Wittner for PeaceVoice. Although the temper tantrums of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu dominated mass media coverage of the 81stsession of the UN General Assembly, which opened in September 2026, the event also included the announcement of a far more significant matter: a campaign to address the problem of worldwide economic inequality.
Share the Worlds Resources
We need to talk about Bandung
In today’s turbulent times, the 1955 conference offers important lessons on global cooperation. By Nabil Ahmed for Aljazeera. In a world torn apart by geopolitical bullying and geoeconomic warfare, great-power conflict and inequality that concentrates wealth and statecraft in the hands of a few, the Bandung Conference is gaining renewed relevance. The developing world’s momentous meeting in 1955 laid the groundwork for a new international order and South-South cooperation.
– Share the Worlds Resources
