New Zealand Rugby League has announced a star-studded Kiwi Ferns squad to hunt their fourth Rugby League World Cup title in the Australasia-based tournament this October. Head Coach Ricky Henry’s strong 23-player squad boasts a range of talent and experience with players delivering virtuosic performances across their respective NRLW seasons.

The Sharks have announced the signings of Blake Hosking, Harrison Hassett and Brad Fearnley in adding strength and depth to their forward stocks for 2027. All three, integral to the success of a Newtown side which won its way through to the NSW Cup Grand Final, will be members of the Sharks full-time NRL squad next season.

The Sharks have four players in the Fiji squad for its first ever Women’s Rugby League World Cup campaign next week. Cronulla club stalwarts Cassie Staples and Talei Holmes have captained Fiji before and will lead the island nation again, alongside Sharks NRLW coach Tony Herman, who has guided the international side over the years.

Sharks rising centre Michael Gabrael has been selected in Lebanon’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, where he hopes to make his international debut. The 21-year-old recently extended his stay in Cronulla until at least 2029, and many will see why when he struts his stuff for his beloved Cedars. “I’m a proud Lebanese Australian, and it means the world to me and my family to be named in the squad,” Gabrael told Sharks Media.
