Featured Interviews News Dr. Douglas Palmer, who was selected to be the next president of Siena Heights, also was the top choice of the student panel. The panel met with all four candidates in January and Palmer was the one who stood out the most. Palmer asked each of the students to introduce themselves and asked what we were studying. He had welcoming body language and exhibited a strong faith.
Lady Saints Ready to Finish Spring Season Strong
Featured Interviews Featured Sports News Showcase Sports The Saints started the spring golf season in Alabama for the Spring Break Invitational and performed very well. Bethany Nowak and Megan Paczas tied for 11th on the individual leaderboard in the entire field. Nowak carded an 88 on day one and then ended with a 45 on nine holes. Paczas went 90 and 43. Skylar Whitman tied for 28th with a 95-45–140, Leah Lefleur tied for 35th with a 100-46–146 and Emma Murphy tied for 44th with a 109-52–161.
Freshman Benjamin Armbruster Off to Hot Start for Spring Golf Season
Featured Interviews Featured Sports News Showcase Sports During the Spring Break Invitational, hosted by Lawrence Tech Invitational. The Siena Heights Men’s and Women’s golf programs travelled down to Opelika, Alabama to play in a big tournament over Spring Break. Ben Armbruster, a freshman standout on the golf team, stood out the most from everyone in both programs during this tournament because of his play. After a struggle on the first day, Armbruster played the last 27 holes only two over par.
Career Connections
Siena Heights University hosted a job fair through Career Connections on Wednesday, March 22nd in the fieldhouse on campus. The event was held 8am-2pm for Siena Heights students, Adrian college students, neighboring high schools, and the general public. Sophomore Ryan King checked out a few booths throughout the day. The Department of Natural Resources was present.
Softball Spring Break
The Siena Heights softball team traveled to Arizona for their annual spring break games. The team left Friday, March 3rd to fly Detroit to Denver then Tucson. The varsity and junior varsity team played several games each day besides their off-day on March 7th. Sophomore Lauren Dioszegi spent the off day with her family. Her off-day included shopping, exploring Tucson, and visiting the Phoenix area.

Exploring the World
Dr. Julie Barst, Professor of English and Chair of the Humanities Division, is leading a trip in May 2024 to Belize and Guatemala. The trip is eight days long with a full itinerary to capture the beauty and culture of Belize. Coral Gardens, the second largest barrier reef, is one of the adventures by snorkeling. Those who attend the trip will also visit the ancient Mayan site of Tikal in Guatemala. There are more activities like zip-lining, tubing through caves, and touring more popular sites.
