Paprika at 20 – the Inescapable March of Progress 02 September 2026 // Featured Paprika is a harrowing film. Amongst its gorgeous animation, startlingly fluid opening credits sequence and surrealist set pieces is an unshakable angst that dances on my nerves whenever I watch it. Whenever Paprika ends, I feel like I’ve escaped something, not realising that my fight or flight response had been activated until the credits rolled.
