Our Kids’ College program is an enriching early college experience that seamlessly blends academic fundamentals with creative exploration. For over three decades, we’ve offered an incredible range of courses at both the Leesburg Campus (38 years) and the Clermont area (25 years).

This free, nonpartisan community event offers residents a unique opportunity to meet candidates seeking city, county, state, and federal offices. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, engage directly with candidates, and learn more about the issues and initiatives shaping the future of Lake County ahead of Election Day. The Lake County Hob Nob serves as an important forum for civic engagement, encouraging informed participation in the democratic process.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Mascotte Police department will hold its Back 2 School Bash and Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 8, from 10 am to 1 pm at Mascotte Charter School, 460 Midway Ave, Mascotte, FL The Backpack Giveaway has helped hundreds of local students prepare for the school year. The Kiwanis Club of Clermont has helped the Mascotte Police Department by raising funds to support the department’s annual event. Kiwanis president Chuck Seaver called Ofc.

TAVARES – Diane Kornegay, the award-winning superintendent of Lake County Schools (LCS), has announced that she will retire at the end of the 2026-27 school year. “After more than 35 years of serving students, educators, and families, I have decided to retire at the end of this upcoming school year,” Kornegay wrote in an email to staff. “Deciding to retire has been one of the most difficult decisions of my career.

Melinda Beltran, City of Clermont The Clermont Fire Department experienced an exceptionally busy Fourth of July holiday, responding to six structure fires between July 4 and July 5, including a residential fire in which firefighters rescued a trapped occupant from a burning home. On July 4, the department responded to five separate structure fires between 2:18 pm. and 11:35 pm.
