ASUS, under their Republic of Gamers sub brand, have announced a new member of the NUC family – the ROG NUC 16. This gaming orientated NUC is powered by an Intel Core Ultra ‘Arrow Lake-HX’ processor, a laptop variant of NVIDIA’s RTX 5080 with 16 GB of VRAM, and up to 128 GB of user provided DDR5-6400-CSODIMM memory. This larger-than-your-normal-NUC measures in at 282.4mm x 189.5mm x 56.5mm, or 3.02 litres excluding the power brick, and weighs 3.12kg.

Built mostly from wood, with a flat pack design and completely recyclable packaging, CASENDRA is a move into a more sustainable future for SFF enthusiasts. Coming in at 8.8 Litres (152 x 212 x 349 mm), this M-ITX case supports graphics cards up to triple slot and 327 mm long.

Nice, I've always been fond of wooden cases and this one looks spot on. How confident are you that the screw holes that hold the side panel closed will not wear out over time? The screws seem to thread directly into the wood, with very little material around them. Some kind of metal threaded insert could extend its life significantly, especially with a screw that will be unscrewed and screwed in again so often.

#1 Hi SFF.Network, I want to make a slim case for a NAS with two 3.5" HDDs that can be placed on a TV stand, flush against the wall. I want to orient the ports downward to hide the cables behind the stand. I'm not interested in making a simple NAS case, so I decided to make a case with two possible uses: a compact gaming PC or a NAS. I also want to add the ability to wall-mount the case; maybe someday I'll hang it above a monitor in my gaming setup. I'm currently designing and modeling this case.
